About Me.

My name is Eleena Korban. I'm a coach, facilitator, and leader with the willingness and skill to promote inquiry, and the presence of mind to recognize subtle mental models at play. My ultimate goals are to equip leaders to reach their full potential, fix broken systems, and advance mechanisms for change toward equity, inclusion, and justice.

In my professional experience, I have worked across multiple countries, industries, and functions. As a journalist in Beirut, Lebanon, I covered elections, citizen journalism, and media literacy. As an executive assistant producer in Cairo, Egypt, I followed modern Egyptian American women starting businesses and reporting on the Arab Spring revolution. I coordinated with International Public Officials for large-scale biotechnology events in Washington, DC, and ran the website for the Humane Society of the United States in Maryland. I am also a PMI-certified Project Management Professional.

As a second-generation Lebanese American who immigrated to the US as an adult, I speak Arabic, English, and French.  I have lived in Lebanon; Egypt; Vancouver, Canada; Dubai, UAE; Los Angeles, CA;, Austin, TX; Washington, DC Metro area; and Chicago, IL. I have had the privilege to explore different cultures in Vietnam, India, Germany, the Czech Republic, Portugal, Spain, Poland, Switzerland, France, Jordan, Greece, Cypress, Turkiye, Puerto Rico, Jordan, Syria, England, and the United Arab Emirates.

I am acquainted with trauma, having been physically present for two wars and several revolutions. I have had the privilege and opportunity to befriend and learn from people from many different walks of life. If all my experiences taught me anything, I am fascinated with how humans learn and change and want to focus my efforts on helping us all "do more good."

Change is hard and inevitable. Humans must continually change to keep up with our ever-evolving, complex, fast-paced world. Anytime there is change, there is loss. Whether it is the loss of good or bad things or simply the loss of the way things were, the process is not unlike grieving. It's very easy to get lost in that or revert to the familiar. The way through is in LEARNING. Learning about ourselves, others, systems, contexts, biases, etc...

Upon discovering this, I pursued a Master of Science in Learning and Organizational Change from Northwestern University and certificates in Organizational Leadership Coaching and Leading with Equity and Inclusion in Organizations.

I work with individual clients on their leadership and professional development goals, typically adult professionals in any role or industry willing to go beneath the surface and engage in the self-exploration required to unlock their potential. Still, my true passion lies in using my coaching skills as a leader internally within an organization on myself and those around me to enhance self-awareness, understand biases, and identify and create impactful goals and action plans toward a more inclusive and equitable world.

Malachite pronounced (Mal-ah-kite), represents enlightened leadership, creativity, confidence, protection, and a healed heart.

Its metaphysical properties help reveal and heal emotional pain by absorbing the pain into itself.

It is said to be especially helpful in bringing ease during times of change and gives the insight needed for personal growth.

The site is called Malachite Methods because, in it, I share my methods, which like the stone support and enhance personal growth and enlightened leadership.
