Freedom within a framework

eleenakorban

In speaking with NU OLCC alums and established coaches, I picked up the phrase

"freedom within a framework" from Ama La Vida's strategy and decided that I wanted to model something similar in my own framework and strategy for setting client goals and structuring the engagement. My goal is to develop a framework for contracting and the engagement scope and duration, and setting goals but to remain flexible enough to be able to meet individual client needs and preferences based on their unique goals and challenges. In goal setting I would like to look "Beyond SMART Goals" (in the words of my professor) and take into account the following characteristics: timeframe, abstract/concrete, approach/avoidance, performance/learning, difficulty, complementary/competing, intrinsic alignment and motivation, implementation intentions, feedback from self and others.
